Refund Policy

When I refund, when I do not, and what happens if a lesson falls through.

Version: September 6, 2026 student status, lessons, courses, diagnostic

In short — what matters

Details are below. If you are short on time, these points are enough.

Student status is not refundable

Access opens immediately and in full — it is digital content. Renewal is cancelled in one click; the exceptions are below.

Courses — by lessons held

Not started — I refund everything. Started — half the price of every lesson not held, at its price in the course.

Reschedule 12 hours ahead

Let me know in advance and the lesson stays yours.

Refunded the same way you paid

Within 10 business days.

1. Before the service starts

Full refund

Before the service has started you may withdraw — I will refund the full price.

2. Student status (subscription)

No refund, with exceptions

No refund is provided, except where a refund is required by applicable law or is expressly provided below: this is digital content — access to the Knowledge Base is granted immediately and in full right after payment.

Automatic renewal. Student status paid by card renews itself until you cancel the renewal with "Manage payment" in your profile — the button opens your Stripe billing portal, and it is one click, any time. Cancelling stops future charges; the period you already paid for is not refunded, but it is not lost either: the access runs to the end.

Exceptions. A purchase clearly made by mistake, an accidental charge right after cancelling, or a technical failure on Stripe's side — I will look at each case individually if you write to my e-mail. Give me the Steam nickname you used to log in to the Service.

3. Single lesson

Held — no refund; not held — everything back

A held lesson is not refundable. A lesson is considered held when its takeaways and homework are published in the dashboard. The fact that you did not open them does not cancel the fact that the service was provided.

If the lesson was not held — a full refund. If it fell through by my fault — a reschedule or a full refund, your choice.

4. Lesson courses

Not started — everything; started — half for every lesson not held

The line runs along "provided / not provided". What has been provided is not refundable: the issued diagnostic and the lessons held. What has not been provided is refundable.

A course is a diagnostic before the start plus separate lessons, and the course price splits between them with nothing left over. The diagnostic is valued at $25 — that is its full price; the rest is split evenly across the lessons: $31.25 per lesson in the 4-lesson course (25 + 4 × 31.25 = $150) and $32.50 per lesson in the 10-lesson course (25 + 10 × 32.50 = $350). The second diagnostic of the 10-lesson course, the one after the fifth lesson, is a bonus: it has no separate price and is not deducted on a refund. For the refund calculation every lesson not held is assigned a value — half of its price in the course, rounded to $16 in both courses. This is not a cancellation penalty and not a deduction of my costs: I refund the value of what was not provided, at the valuation declared here. You know that valuation before you buy — it is printed on this page.

  • Nothing issued (no diagnostic, no lessons) — a 100% refund.
  • The diagnostic was issued and no lessons were held — a refund of the course price minus $25.
  • Lessons have started — half the price of every lesson not held ($16 in either course); the diagnostic is not deducted twice.
  • A lesson forfeited because of a no-show without notice (section 5) is not counted as a lesson that was not held and does not go into the refund.
  • The student status given as a course bonus is switched off at the moment of the refund.

5. Reschedules and no-shows

Give 12 hours notice
  • To cancel or reschedule a lesson, give me at least 12 hours' notice before the start.
  • The first missed lesson without notice — the lesson stays yours.
  • Every next no-show without notice forfeits the lesson: it is not rescheduled and not refunded in money. I do not count it as held — I did not hold it.
  • If I could not hold the lesson — a reschedule of your choice or a full refund for that lesson.

6. Diagnostic

No refund after the recording is delivered

The diagnostic counts as delivered once the recording and the mistake list are published in your dashboard — after that there is no refund. Not opening them does not undo the delivery.

7. Coach at Battle Cup

A day before the games — everything back; a no-show — nothing

The captain books the Battle Cup evening; he pays for the team or the players chip in. The Saturday is locked in for the team once it is paid in full, and there are 24 hours after the agreement to do that. The refund follows one rule — whether the evening fell through because of the team or because of me.

  • Cancel at least 24 hours before the start (Friday 21:00 Moscow time) — a 100% refund.
  • Not paid within 24 hours of the agreement — the booking is dropped and there is nothing to refund.
  • The team or part of it did not show up on Saturday — the evening does not happen and the money is not refunded: that Saturday was held for you.
  • I could not run the evening — a 100% refund or another Saturday, your choice.

8. How to request a refund

One email, reply within 24 hours

Write to my email or Discord: what you paid for and when. I refund by the same method the payment was made, within 10 business days.

  • E-mail: support@commonsensedota.com
  • Discord: commonnsense

Before going to your bank or payment provider, write to me — I resolve disputed cases within 24 hours. A chargeback on a service that was delivered leads to account suspension.
